Initially thought it looked good for kids as plenty of toys and room. However after the very loud comment about the scrambled egg on the floor from my 2 toddlers and disapproving looks I can’t say I’ll be rushing back. There are baby changing facilities however the staff don’t like dirty nappies in the bin and state they haven’t got facilities for this?? So although it looks child friendly they obviously don’t like them much! Good place to take your dog though they obviously prefer them.
My dog Ollie drags us here after each lovely woodland walk. The most dog friendly place in miles but also set up for kids with reading books, toys and games. Plenty of room to spread out. Staff always friendly and food cooked to order. Bake trays and scones beautiful and I think they’re home made too! Ollie especially enjoys the dog sausage and natural treats they sell. They support local animal charities too so kind. Outside eating area for dry days handy when it’s busier at the weekend. Love this place!
Perhaps it would be helpful to implement a rule allowing a maximum of two dogs per table, with additional dog owners being asked to sit outside. This way, families and children could also enjoy their visit. It’s possible we chose a particularly busy day, as we only ordered two drinks to go (which were quite nice) before leaving. We’ll give it another try in the future to see if our experience was just an anomaly.
Oh dear, where do you start? Service poor, more interested in chatting to there friends. A weak latte served in a builders metal mug! never Pumphreys coffee). Sat outside where the stench from the sewers bins was so bad. To cap it off having to move so that the bins could be wheeled through the seating area to be emptied. Won’t be back.
This café is fantastic for both dogs and their humans. The selection of food for everyone is impressive. We opted for kangaroo sticks, lamb tails, and doggy ice cream for our furry friends, while we enjoyed coffee and scones. The homemade cakes looked amazing, especially the cream egg cake! The staff member who served us was incredibly friendly and mentioned that they will soon be offering dog agility classes in the back of the café. They also had liver cake, homemade dog biscuits, and more for the pups; I was amazed at how well they cater to both dogs and humans. I will definitely be returning! There’s even a sniffing wall for the dogs. It's the perfect spot to begin or end your walk at Watergate Forest Park.
