Pangea Restaurant Bar - Garland

A week ago we attended a birthday dinner for a friend. There were 9 people in the party and a mandatory 15% gratuity. No problem. My husband did not realize this when he paid the bill and added an additional tip. After conversing we called the waiter back and informed him of the error. He said he understood and fixed the transaction. He gave us a receipt with the correct amount. Once it cleared the bank, the additional charge was posted with the double tip. Very disappointed. Contacted general manager and requested full tip refund. I didn't feel we should tip someone that appeared to be deceptive. Our request was denied and we were issued back only the additional tip. The steak I ordered was SO FATTY I couldn't eat it, it was the worst food I've ever tried to eat. Very disappointing. I requested a refund and it was denied. I will never order that Ribeye again. I never mind paying for something, especially when its good, but when its not even edible thats just wrong.

I 've been to Pangea one time in an attempt to support a black owned business. The food was horrible, but the waiter was great until he started talking about his tip. We are two black women in our seventies. The waiter all but said, :Yall beyyer give me a good tip. Very uncalled for because my.friend.and I always tip more than what 's standard tip. It scated us! We asked for take out because it was so nasty, I thought maybe I could doctor it once we got home. This is one of their more expensive meals on the menu! Why did I open that box to a bucket of grease? The whole ordeal was $76. That was my tab. I don 't remember what my friend paid. . Oh and the honey buttered corn bread was nasty tasting. The glass of wine was okay. I will never go back their again. The red flags should have been an indicator. The place was empty! As nice and large as it is there were only us and a table on the other side of the room where 5 or 6 women were throwing a birthday party. Ugh!!

Slow service, waiter didn't come back to see if we wanted anything else to drink, my salmon was cold, my friend's jerk lamp shank was supposed to have jerk sauce but it was more like a thick gravy, very loud groups of people, the manager did come over with a round of shots but I will not be back.
