First, the egg noodles with wonton are delicious. The noodles are crispy and chewy, just like I remember from when I was young in Cho Lon. The wontons are filled with flavorful pork and shrimp. I also recommend trying the dried version of this dish, which comes with soup on the side. Next, the baked rice flour cake with eggs (Banh Beo Chin) is a popular street food in Cho Lon. I have tried this dish in both Vietnamese and Cantonese styles, and I have to say that the Cantonese style is better. The rice cakes are pressed and fried to perfection, then drenched in spicy soy sauce with hot oil to elevate the flavors. Lastly, the wok-fried pasta with cube steak (Hu Tieu Xao Bo) is another popular street food in Vietnam. The key to making this dish is using short noodles to pack in all the flavors. The Cantonese version uses only sprouts and cube steak, while the Vietnamese version includes ground pork. The wok must infuse and blend all the flavors perfectly, which Dong Hai Restaurant does exceptionally well. The owner of the restaurant is very attentive, helpful, and friendly. If you are looking for authentic Cho Lon or Kowloon-style dishes, I highly recommend giving this place a try. The hot and sour soup at this restaurant is the best in all of Dallas. It is delicious!

My friend and I used to dine at this restaurant. The hot and spicy roasted rice with ketchup is absolutely amazing. The Dungeness crab dish is also delicious. This hidden gem restaurant has more of a Vietnamese influence than Chinese, and it's fantastic!
