Dropped in on a whim after running errands. Hubs has issue chewing, swallowing due to cancer treatments. Ordered beef chop suey, one of his favorites and pork lo mein. Noodles were really good but won't order pork in this dish again. Chop suey was fabulous. Even though hubs had issues with swallowing he declared it delicious! I'm amazed. What Matthew Craig doesn't like about China Star:
I'm so disappointed. The eggrolls were ok, but that's it. I ordered veggie Lomein for my wife and the noodles had obviously turned bad from sitting too long. The fried rice was just dry brown rice with no flavor. The Beef and scallops were awful. The lady running the place was very nice and I was hopeful, but I won't be back View all feedback.
Food was good! Generous portions! I got the Double Teriyaki over rice togo. I don't know what's wrong with the other reviewers, seems very biased. My family owned multiple chinese restaurants in the past, so I consider myself very knowledgeable in this category. If you are in the area, don't hesitate to try this place and support local businesses!
The food is good, I ordered several times from there for delivery. The times before a pleasant man brought it. Tonight a rude woman brought it. She calls and asks (yells) if I'm sure what my address is. I tell her I am. She then says she is at my house but the people there said it wasn't their order. I tell her I'm also at my house and she's no where around and she needs to quit yelling at me. She was at the wrong place. I dislike giving my money to hateful people so I won't order there again.

Noodles were really good but won't order pork in this dish again. Chop suey was fabulous. Even though hubs had issues with swallowing he declared it delicious! I'm amazed. He rarely likes other people's food and is super critical as he was a chef for years. Very high compliment to the restaurant for a dish that used to be common (though mostly made at home) and is now very difficult to find. We WILL be back. Thank you!!
Great food! I was scared when I saw some of the negative reviews but notice that they are all from people that had three reviews or less. I had the Hunan tofu which must have had at least a pound and a half of tofu in it. Lots of food, plenty of fresh vegetables. Broccoli was nice and fresh, all the vegetables for crispy. Very good portion size, but I did order the larger of the two sizes. More than I could eat in one meal, leftovers will be plenty for a big lunch tomorrow. This has been around for a lot of years, you can tell it was open when times are better and the hospital was open and there's plenty of new money coming in. The hospital has gone a couple of times, now it's a VA hospital but with very limited services so there's not a lot of traffic coming to the neighborhood. Looking back towards the kitchen it looks like what you would think a authentic Chinese restaurant would look like. Almost scary. But my dish was very good. The fried rice was nothing to ride home and tell Mom about, it was just plain old fried rice with nothing in it not even a hint of egg. The entree was good and I will be back again.
