The food still took over an hour to be ready.... read more My experience here couldn 't have been worse. I came in and there was only one person in line to order before me. The food still took over an hour to be ready. Rather than inform me of the wait the cook... or owner continued to string me along in 10 to 20 minute intervals. When the food was finally ready it looked nothing like the photos on he menu at all. I did not take the food and instead requested a refund which to their credit the restaurant did give. They also gave me the beef patties I had ordered on the house. While this was a kind gesture, given the circumstances it was too little too late. The beef patties themselves being the only thing I ate were bland without any sort of jamaican flavoring at all. I will not be returning to this location.

My... read more I came to visit my family and my daughter is half Jamaican, we live in Toronto. My mom told me this place had opened and I should try. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. My daughter ate it up like her own dad cooked it and the owner was such a kind man. I totally recommend anyone from Gander checking it out. Dip into another culture and experience the food. It?s something I promise you won?t regret! JAMAICA JAMAICA ???????? #onelove

I came here today to ask what type of veg options this restaurant has and spent several minutes being told that it is a waste to have those kinds of things in stock because they don 't sell well, despite the menu and signs outside offering no meat dishes. While it 's not at all surprising to me that this is the case in central Newfoundland, the kind and respectful thing to do in this situation (and the best way I 've experienced this handled in the past) is to ask what I can/do eat and offer to put something together. It wouldn 't be my first time eating a meal of side dishes in a pinch. Even suggest dessert! Something!! To be completely dismissed without any effort at all is very disappointing. Please update your misleading signage.
