The tapas bar offers a lively atmosphere, delicious food of tapas proportions, and expensive wine. The small menu may be limiting, but the food is tasty. However, it may not be the best choice for picky eaters or hungry diners. The staff is welcoming and attentive, creating a pleasant dining experience. With an elegant presentation of dishes and a diverse wine selection, this hidden gem is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Despite minor drawbacks like overpriced items and limited menu options for children, this restaurant stands out for its great food and atmosphere.

Was Anonym at The Universal a mag?
Had dinner here with some friends the last weekend of October. Very quick and easy to book a table. Very cosy with a great atmosphere and good music played low enough where you could converse with no difficulty hearing others. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the lemon sole and a bowl of garlic potatoes deep fried pickles with garlic aioli sauce. The lemon sole was delicious and the meat slid rig... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about The Universal:
tapas bar is an exact description here. not helpful to a conversation about dinner, as the music was very loud and tables too close. we were a party to sit on a table, only about big enough for eating was from tapas shares, so works out expensive. small menu, but eating was delicious. very expensive. not enough to tempt me again. The restaurant offers delicious small plates at a reasonable price with excellent service. The cozy ambiance of the small room in a charming area adds to the experience. Both the steak and lemon sole were tasty and delicious.
If you enjoy delicious food served in small portions at intimate tables, this is the perfect spot for you. However, the wine and food here are both quite expensive. They don't split bills, which can be inconvenient. The food is tasty, but the portion sizes are small, so make sure you aren't too hungry when you visit. The servers recommend ordering two small plates and a side, which can cost around €40 per person. The wine selection starts at €38 per bottle. The decor is stylish, but the tapas are a bit overpriced. Overall, a nice dining experience but not exceptional.
We hadn't eaten here in a while but really enjoyed it. Firstly it's not cheap but the source good ingredients and good produce well cooked is never going to be cheap in Ireland. We tried 3 starters the pick of which was the beetroot. I had the John Dory as a main which was lovely. Everything was very well seasoned. They've a great selection of wine including our favourite Rose Cava. The only minus I'd have was the new York style cheesecake whilst delicious was just too small. Overall it was excellent.
