Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could cl... read more Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could clearly tell that I am definitely of age. Inside, loud with music at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was outside with the pint glass and thankfully, no one smoking out there. Great to sit for an hour and watch the idiots peel out from Eyre Square in their fancy cars. And watch the taxis make the u-turn to the stand directly in front. And when someone did decide to light up, finish off the pint and head onwards. Lots of tourists in town this evening so it was busy all around.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at McGrettigan’s, and I must say, my experience was truly elevated thanks to our server, Max. From the moment we were seated, Max exuded warmth and professionalism, making us feel incredibly welcome. His attention to detail, knowledge of the menu, and impeccable timing made the entire meal seamless and enjoyable. Max went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering insightful recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. He was attentive without being intrusive, striking the perfect balance between friendly and efficient service. It’s rare to come across such a dedicated and personable server who genuinely cares about creating a memorable dining experience. Thanks to Max, our evening at McGrettigan’s was exceptional, and I’ll certainly be returning soon – hopefully to be served by him again! Highly recommend both the restaurant and Max for a top-tier dining experience.
