Kai - Galway
Kai
Description
Kai Restaurant is a unique dining spot tucked between a church and a lively gay bar on Sea Road in Galway’s Westend. Over 14 years ago, New Zealander Jess and Carlow’s Dave Murphy transformed what was once a florist’s shop into the warm, inviting space known today as Kai. Kai means food in Māori, and true to its name, the restaurant embraces a simple yet powerful philosophy: to use high-quality produce, preferably organic or wild, sourced locally and prepared with care and intelligence. What’s fresh and in season will be what you find on your plate. The interior, featuring stone floors and subtle homey touches, creates an atmosphere that feels familiar and welcoming from the moment you step inside. Lunch at Kai is a relaxed, casual affair with no reservations needed, while dinner requires booking in advance, either by phone or through the website. Here at Kai, it’s all about savouring the best that the season and local land and sea have to offer—come and kai with us!.
