This place is surprisingly unstable. We visit occasionally, and are usually satisfied. Yesterday we were thinking about visiting during the oyster festival, but the prices are high. We get them delivered to our home, and with delivery, they're a third cheaper. A full dose is 18-24 euros straight from the farms. Nearby, at the Japanese restaurant, they were offering a gift tasting. Free. What a treat! Overall, maybe, but not great.
Very good restaurant, fast service, one problem however: the aperitif is served at the same time as the starter, but this does not change the quality of the food.
We had a few restaurants in mind for Thursday night, but they were all fully booked . It was raining and we were super hungry, so we just picked this place and called ahead, lucky us, they had one last table waiting! And oh my gosh, the food was sooo unexpectedly good! The sweetest girl welcomed us,she was absolutely adorable and full of warm energy The seafood chowder was cozy and delicious, though the seafood pasta was just a little too al dente for me. But the steak! It was incredible!! Really unique style and sooo tasty and fun. We also had the tiramisu and affogato, and they were both totally delicious too Such a happy little surprise on a rainy evening
As we strolled past, the aroma of seafood chowder was too tempting to ignore—rich, creamy, and deeply satisfying. It came with a slice of seedy brown bread so delicious I tried to buy a loaf to take home, but it’s a treat reserved for diners only. The Goat’s Cheese Parcel Salad was a standout, bursting with flavor from toasted pine nuts and a sweet red pepper chutney. For dessert, we went classic with a crème brûlée—silky smooth and indulgent, though a touch more caramelized sugar on top would’ve made it flawless. The rustic stone walls and warm, inviting atmosphere give the place its charm. A true hidden gem worth seeking out.
Atmospheric place in the center of Golway, delicious food especially the Sirloin steak, which is cooked on the stone on which it is served. Looks very impressive. Also worth trying the Oysters. The staff is warm and friendly, acting as a cohesive team. Thank you for such a warm welcome.
