Perched above sweeping Mississippi Valley views, this ski-side Bavarian lodge dazzles with sunsets, family-friendly slopes and surprisingly good upstairs dining, yet feels caught in time. Rooms are clean but dated, and maintenance lapses — musty pool/hot tub, sporadic housekeeping, and restroom closures — undermine an otherwise scenic, remote retreat. Service swings from warm and efficient to inattentive, and a downstairs café disappoints. Ideal for skiers, families and couples seeking views and ski access, but expect mixed service and a property in need of renovation.

Great place to enjoy an evening. The view is great (we went on the first week of November)!! Food is very good and the service is excellent!! Place looks clean as well. A must try !!
Beautiful view and everything on the menu is great. Highly recommend eating out on the large deck. Wait staff very friendly and courteous. Full bar with good selection. Will return on next Galena visit!!!
Amazing views and amazing place They follow the covid guidelines properly The sunset view from the patio is amazing They have a variety of food and beverages and even if you are a vegetarian you have a lot of options The death bu chocolate cake is a must try, it’s something you should just not miss
Nice atmosphere with fantastic views to the river and ski resort. Food quality and postion sizes are acceptable. Liked their bavarian style pretzel bread.
I recently visited this restaurant for a nice lunch with my boyfriend. After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes without any service. Several waiters passed by us without acknowledging our presence. At one point, I even saw staff point us out to a waiter, who then laughed and walked away. I've never experienced such poor treatment before.
