The elegant and quiet dining room is a perfect companion to the delicious food served at The Generals. Service is above and beyond. The Generals will always be one of our dining spots when we visit Galena.

Always lovely. Good service, nice food, always love the desserts. Not the finest dining in the world, but very nice for Galena!

We’ve passed by for 20years and finally stopped in. It’s in the historic DeSoto so the decor was 1800s. Quaint dining room. Karstyn our server gave us full attention. Explained mine well. Shrimp in bacon appetizer was crisp and tasty. Wife has crab legs. Reasonable market price. I had ribs. Portions generous. 2 sides generous. Birthday cheesecake was tasty. My wife’s wine selection was good. Reasonable prices. Overall service from our 3 servers capped the evening. We’ll be back for sure

First timers, and it won’t be the last. All four of our meals were fantastic. These consisted of filets, ribeye, and trout. Sides were just as good. Nice atmosphere, even with the pianist being somewhat louder than we would’ve liked. However, he was very good.

Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere while surrounded by history. Food and service is excellent. We’ve been before, came back, and will dine there again!
