The Bg Halifax Beer Garden

Their Saturday market is small and show cases local vendors. The hotchocolate and delicious and so is the food. I have gone two weeks in a row now and both had live music starting around 1pm.

Can only say....my first 2 times there were great and my rating would of been a solid 4 across the board....today we were denied entrance by a young man power tripping who demanded Id from my 30 plus year old daughter....say what you want about rules etc. but we were not asked this a week ago when we went. I'm 60....if I didn't have my id with me would I be denied??? Common sense would go a long way....I'm back to Halifax in a week with my work crew (doing a project in town) and we won't be back.....will go else where where we feel welcome. Cheers.

Gave it 3 stars because the atmosphere and staff are nice but it should be given 2 stars. Today, I ordered one drink and seafood chowder. The drink was $13 and it didn’t even look like 250ml or include a lime. The chowder ingredients were good but the broth was thin and runny. The bun accompanied with it was a little bigger than the size of my thumb. The bill came to $40, including tip. For chowder and ONE drink. The payment machine is placed to begin at 18% which sets a greedy tone.

I stopped here for a late lunch and they had an Octoberfest going. It was a great party with live music the food was tasty fresh. So was the draft beer. Everyone was having fun it was a great experience. Kudos to the friendly staff at The BG!
