Service was... read more We made a motorcycle trip over the Sustenpass and stayed here for a lunch. The location is fantastic and they have enough space in the parking lot. Service was sufficient and food ok. Old looking place where you can only pay cash like late 1990, early 2001. Wifi is available for CHF5.

It had everything we needed. Have stopped masny times on the way down from the Sustenhorn or Tierberglihuette. This time we stayed the night. Rooms and toilets... read more It had everything we needed. Have stopped masny times on the way down from the Sustenhorn or Tierberglihuette. This time we stayed the night. Rooms and toilets clean, showers available not used. The food was excellent and given second portions. The owner/manager had time for everyone and took the trouble to check the avalanche conditions for us by telephoneing the Sustli hut. One of our parties left a jacket. We were returned by post. We had forgotten to advise that one of our parties was vegetarian. It was sorted out on site without foot (and we only announced it as a meal)

We are regulars at the Steingletscher, always trying to combine the beauties of the Sustenpass region with the simple, hearty and delicious cuisine of the Stein... read more We are regulars at the Steingletscher, always trying to combine the beauties of the Sustenpass region with the simple, hearty and delicious cuisine of the Steingletscher. Our favorites are the Sustenrösti with Coppa, a typical bernese dish of fried potatoes with dried meat and scraped cheese. Inexpensive, tasty and always served with a smile. I wish i could be as positive with the Grimsel Hospiz restaurant, but it is no match.
