We had dinner here on a Friday night and realised why there were only a couple of others in there while other restaurants in the area were full. The complimentary poppadoms were presented in a wicker basket covered with alfoil. They tasted of old oil but were the best part of the meal. We have eaten in this delightful, family-run restaurant many times over several years and we still love it. The food is always excellent and the staff and proprietors are warm and courteous. The prices are very reasonable and they cater very well to any size group. And the acoustics are good - It is one of the few restaurants where you don't have to shout to talk to people at your table. Enjoy your meal!
We had dinner here on a Friday night and realised why there were only a couple of others in there while other restaurants in the area were full. The complimentary poppadoms were presented in a wicker basket covered with alfoil. They tasted of old oil but were the best part of the meal. The rice was gluggy and not fluffy as you'd expect for Indian food. I had the vegetables kofta which had very little flavour and were certainly not medium hot. I couldn't finish eating them. My companion had lamb vindaloo which was bland and could have been a korma for the lack of spice and flavour. I would not go again. It was the worst Indian food I think I've eaten.
Chicken raw ,food cold in places seems to have come from the freezer and microwaved.the decor if the place was however good
I love this place, the food is absolutely fantastic and the price is great, it has plenty of space in the restaurant or you can take away, we have done both.I love the flavours of the food, it makes my mouth water on the first waft (and my eyes too), I like very spicy (Indian hot) and my wife no spice at all, and they cater for both well.On waiting for our takeaway we have been given popadoms free of charge, it is these little things that make this place a cut above in our book, and reflects the friendly service we have always received. Another pleasantly surprising thing here is that the rice comes free, you order the main and no extra cost for the steamed rice, it makes for a low cost indian meal.We have not found the restaurant to be too crowded and have always been able to have a nice quiet meal, there is a balcony area where we have chosen to sit and mostly we have been up there by ourselves, I think it is great to be able to talk to each other over a nice meal.Try the goat, I love its great non fatty flavour and it is not on all menu's. there are plenty of other choices too, My wife loves the butter chicken. As you can guess, this is our absolute favourite Indian restaurant for taste and price.
