I was very c... read more We had a one night stay as a treat whilst dealing with a house sale. We had a deal for one night stay, breakfast and three course dinner with wine. I was very close to awarding five stars and probably would for the food but just felt there was a tiny something missing in the overall stay to just mark it down. On arrival there was no-one around but then found the bell and rang it and help very quickly arrived. Immediately taken to our room which was immaculate very spacious and very modern but slightly lacking in character for my taste. We went to the bar for a drink but took a while to find someone to serve however service was very polite when it arrived. Dinner was a very leisurely service - everything was cooked fresh to order - some may find it slightly lengthy. I think a little quiet background music might improve the atmosphere in the dining room. All food was stunning. A delight for the eyes and the palate. I can't stress just how delicious the food was and the accompanying wines were well chosen and delicious. The gardens were delightful and had we packed costumes we would have tried the pool. Wouldn't hesitate to return and would try the 5course menu on another visit. Thank you all at Hotel Nougier.
