Lovely restaurant in a beautiful and typical little village worth the visit. The members of staff are friendly and welcoming. They detailed all the menu for us. The food and the wine suggested were delicious. The starters 'Xisto ' are a little mixed of what speciality offers the region. The house wine (red and white) is fruity and excellent (Quinta da Arrancada). We did not have to wait between courses. It is not an extended menu but all the members of our party were very happy with what they ate. Desserts are to die for (leite creme)! Prices are reasonable.
Extraordinarily prepared food. The servings are large and the desserts are to cry for more. Very cozy inside.
A restaurant experience not to repeat. The food is regular, the wine choice is adequate but the owners insist to seat customers in the top dinner room, with poor air conditionning, and I finished my meal completely wet of sweat. What a poor sense of service!...
We went to Janeiro de Cima for the weekend. It was an unknown place for us and we had no big expectations. The village is beautiful, the river beach seems very pleasant in the summer, and the restaurant was an excellent surprise. The menu is not big, but it is amazing. The Xisto entree is a must, the veal is tender and well cooked, and the desert Sinfonia is delicious. All and all, the price is very reasonable for the quality we found. Highly recommended.
