visited the snug and was impressed by eating so we thought to give his big brother an attempt to come to the snug old town. the word that is to consider average eating was ok but nothing special and the service was about the same. Can not help to think the restaurants should have swap sites, so that the one that serves large burger and Mexican food could have a more prominent position in the old city. View all feedback.
Had a great meal here. Amazing decor. Very unique. Relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Craft beer that was very nice. Good portion size. Tasty, delicious food. Tender meat, crispy fries, beautiful homemade coleslaw. Baked potato with cheese was delicious. Homemade sauces.
Excellent. We have been a few times. Burgers are delicious portions are massive. Staff are great. It is always worth the walk and we will return whenever we are in Funchal.
We were recommended this restaurant by some people we met on a trip, they said it was the best meal they had had since they’d been there they were going back the next day, we thought we’d give it a go well we wish we had known of it sooner, nearly everything was perfect, some things were simply outstanding! My wife and I both opted for the burgers and fries, we were also pleased to see they sold craft beers, mainly in bottles but I believe they have some on tap we went for the bottled and were pleased with the ones we tried. They served the meal with garlic sauce, both my wife and I love garlic and this sauce was fantastic, I hope I didn’t cause offence when I asked the waiter if they made the sauce themselves or bought it in (if they bought it in I was prepared to find some to take back with me, it was that good! they said they make it themselves, I think if we go back to Madeira I’ll contact them on the first day to see if they can make me some up to take back, the only complaint would be the onion rings which were very basic and not up to the standard of the rest of the meal, l’d say either source a better product or make your own I’m sure based on the rest of the food you produce you could do a better job.
Fab food. So good we came back (we don’t do this usually as there’s so many places to explore on holiday because that meat is too good. Good selection of beers either in the fridge or on tap but the unexpected star was the black beans side (I was warned it wasn’t “baked beans” , a Venezuelan recipe, they were delicious. We plan to return to Madeira and this place will be top of the list
Bizarrely, i chose this meat restaurant because of the vegan options available. I had the pulled brisket with fries onion rings and Mac cheese, that was top notch and very generous portions, along with a beer paddle of local stout, ipa and banana beer (not a fan but worth a try) We also had a huge chicken burger, chicken burrito bowl and sangria. A big thumbs up for all! Unfortunately the vegan burrito dish didn’t live up to the same great standards, and came with dairy sour-cream real cheese so had to be removed remade as no alternatives were available. I’m not blaming the restaurant as I think Madeira is still playing catch-up on vegan dishes. Good value overall.
