If you want a local vibe and honest conversation, this is the place for you. You will want to come back again and again.

If you ar... read more Very nice place for casual food and drink in a very friendly atmosphere. Manuel’s personality makes it feel like being in a Scottish pub with friends. If you are near by it is worth to stop there for a drink and a snack which are both good value and taste. We have been in Madeira a few times and keep retuning to this bar (it was on our way to hotel).

To be fair, we have been disappointed: the father and daughter are nice and willing to help. The food is ok nothing more but prices are very attractive.

This is a tiny bar which, by appearances, could be described as a 'locals ' bar, but the proprietors and all the local punters go out of their way to make you f... read more This is a tiny bar which, by appearances, could be described as a 'locals ' bar, but the proprietors and all the local punters go out of their way to make you feel incredibly welcome! I am slightly reluctant to promote it because to have too many tourists pouring in may spoil it 's charm, but it would be unfair not to reward their efforts with a good review. We discovered the bar when walking back to our hotel on the second night of our holiday and then returned every night afterwards! Drinks are great value, the cocktails are strong, tasty tapas is handed out freely and the couple behind the bar (I can 't remember the owner 's name, but the young woman is called Joanna) were as entertaining as any comedy double act. We were really sad to say goodbye when we finally popped in on our way to the airport for big hugs all round!

Along with his daug... read more This is the most special bar I have ever visited. Within 3 hours of landing in Funchal we were greeted in this bar by the nicest man Manuel. Along with his daughter and staff this place made our holiday very special. We sampled many of the free tapas which were offered to us and I can say they were delicious. We were lucky to be there when the football was on so became Portugese Supporters. If you ever visit Funchal you must visit this pub. Good food and fantastic people. I cannot thank them enough for welcoming us as they did.
