Was Ivan Silva at Leque a mag?

What Pelourinho dislikes about Leque:
Nice spot overlooking the classic Portuguese Square. Was here four years ago and it was still business as usual. Cheap beer, good Italian pasta dishes. Canneloni and Porcini funghi. Microwaved of course! Great Pastel de Belem. Attentive an friendly service and an enjoyable spot. View all feedback.

A place a lot of locals eat/ snack/ drink coffee, they obviously know the places for good food, service . not tourist rip off prices that are around here. The view of the square the church is a very good bonus. The staff spoke very good English so my Portugese wasnt put to too much pressure. If you are missing your latte while in Madeira then get a Galao here at a fraction of Costas price even if you have to have it with soya milk. We called for an afternoon coffee were lucky to be treated to see the guests bride arrive at the church across the square for a wedding.

Found this little gem during a walk around Funchal and decided to stop for lunch . The toastie's and prego especial were delicious. The service was good and considering the location in the fabulous square it was surprisingly great value for money

This has become a regular stop-off for a light lunch and to watch the world go by. Friendly staff and inexpensive. Interesting this year that we could be picked out as tourists as they locals were not drinking alcohol.
