I stopped here for lunch. Great ambience, and delicious sandwiches. I loved the salmon and cream cheese sandwich on the traditional bolo de caco bread! The staff are very considerate, as well.
Staff were friendly, and our skewers and black scabbard were fine, but honestly the most memorable part of the meal was the salmon and cream cheese sandwich served on bolo de caco bread. I love the similar kind of sandwich which in New York is typically served on a bagel, and couldn 't resist ordering this item even though it didn 't really fit in with the rest of our dinner. I 'm not certain it counts as traditional Madeiran cuisine, but it was delicious. I think it would be great for a quick lunch!
The food was cheap and we decide to sit. I was with 3 guys and they received a menu, they gave to me one different. When I asked why the waitress told me “woman and kids get an smaller version”. Didn’t like it at all. At the end when they were offering a shot the waitress again said “she can have”, like allowing me to drink. Unacceptable. The manners were not the best. The food neither. And they charged us 12€ for two water bottles and 12€ for bread that we didn’t asked for. I will never be back and I don’t recommend it.
