What an exceptional delight. We stopped to go to the nearby Colorado Welcome Center, only to note the Tapatio sign. Living in San Diego California, we're picky about good Mexican food. Immediately walking in, we good smell that familiar Mexican food smell, that satisfies the senses. The restaurant is well decorated and might I say, charming and warm. The staff friendly. Chips and salsa were brought to the table, we knew right away that these are home made. The salsa fresh and delicious, however
I wish there were more restaurants like El Tapatio out there. Amazing food. Great service. Friendly staff.
Not really pleased with our dining experience tonight. My food came out burnt and they finally checked on us so that I could request a change which they did, except the second version was not very good either. The food just didn't taste good like it normally does at Tapatio. Like somebody new is working in the kitchen that doesn't quite know what they're doing.

I've always heard wonderful things about El Tapatio, and now that I've been, I can finally see why. When we first walked in the door, there were 3 gentlemen that immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. We were taken to our table, and within 5 seconds later, a lovely woman brought some chips and salsa to enjoy (absolutely delicious, by the way). The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and fast. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, and the portions are very generous. I can't wait to go back and try some more of the tasty menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
