We were wanting to find somewhere special for a wedding anniversary meal while on holiday and were recommended the Talbot. The food was outstanding as was the beer and service. This place is worth traveling to for a brilliant meal. View all feedback.
While we stayed in pious, we met friends here for lunch, which we had not seen for eighteen months because of covid. we ate in the courtyard on a sunny day that was beautiful. the food and service was excellent, but we felt the drinks prices. were a bit steep.
Matt, who looks after the talbot, is the most charming of antipodeans that they have ever met and arranged for full English breakfast in front of the england w New Zealand game. we all sat and had a tasty breakfast and then enjoyed the...performance that came a bit too early for england. a perfect Saturday morning. the personal is great.
Daniel and the staff of the talbot were attentive, polite, friendly and helpful from the first contact. nothing was too much annoyed. the bedrooms were amazing. I had booked five rooms for us and our friends, of course the best for us. were not disappointing. room had a super king size bed that was so comfortable. the beautiful furnishings and an amazing bathroom in the bedroom felt very luxurious. our friends were equally impressed by their dreams and from my own room gave a great value for money. our guests arrived early to decorate the dining room. the table was comfortable and the room was perfect for a group of this size. the room had comfortable sofas at one end to relax after dinner. the room had its own music system and we were able to control the loudness. to some extent, as we saw fit. we could bring our own prosecco and wein for an appropriate cork fee. daniel put our wein in the cellar before the day, how arranged and ensured that the white was cold in ice cups and the red was the perfect temperature before serving. he also remembered to produce the dessert wines I had completely forgotten. daniel had organized at the beginning of the night an egg beer and apfel wine for the non-Prosecco dankers, of which the young have appreciated and worked short. eating was breathtaking. we had canapés with our appetizers. I was glad david to use the cook, its creativity and we were not disappointed by beautiful mint, inherited and feta cheese bruschetta, steak-tetar bites and chicken wings, we were in hog heaven! for the starter we enjoyed fish and meat-sharing boards that I had booked before. that was amazing. our guests chose from the a la carte menu for their main courses and desserts and each human said how wonderful it was eating. we had a great night, one we'll never forget. we came together as a group to the breakfast and were treated to a varied menu. a member of the group had pancakes and chocolate sauce, others had perfectly boiled poached eggs and avocado on toast with chili flakes, while others more tradition eier benedikt or full English. the **** mary drinks helped to calm our lightly tender heads. they even had ibuprofen for those who really suffer. I can honestly say that the talbot pulled out all stops and would not have thought to recommend a stay or a dinner party here!
We were several times in the last year or so and enjoyed super eating including a very nice Sunday lunch with friends at any occasion. However, this Sunday was very dissapointing especially since we had told our guests exactly how well. that would be eating. curs was blue cheese frit with poked pears and candied walnuts for all and it was excellent, my wife had a whole grilled sole she said was nice but the rest of the party had roasted buck, bark meat, pork or nuts roasted in the evening and open it was very bad. all agreed the carrots, where undercooked and dry the flower cauliflower a single floret with a damp smudge of bechamel and no detectable cheese, a baton of soggy carrot and some kale. I had told my friend that we had had at our last visit a half-wung and it was delicious, was filled with a scrupulous beating stuff. the pork was similar to miniscule, my bark was sufficiently large, rire as desired and delicate, but completely tasteless. if we had been in a dirty pub, it would have been disappointing, but we have paid for it pro teller! simply not excusable talbot and shamed on them because they took their eye on the ball they used to be especially
Ate here one night when staying near by. Very good menu and can highly recommend the pork fillet. It was so juicy and tender. Prices reasonable but be aware a service charge is automatically added. Not sure if this goes to staff or management.
