The Bait Shop - Friday Harbor

Small portions of fish and lots of chips. It was good for a tourist shop.

Ordered 3 soft serve ice creams with cones, got them in cups. Told the lady we asked for cones and she mumbled something like “i know but it will melt” and walked away. Like ya.. ice cream melts. We were sooo confused on her refusal to give us cones. Just say you don’t have any when we are ordering rather than give us something we don’t want.

I’m usually hesitant to try fish and chips because I’m rarely impressed but the halibut here was really tasty! Whereas fried fish around this region can be really greasy and bland, this fish had a nice, light crispiness to it and good flavor, especially with the tartar sauce. Enjoyed outside on a bench and it was a lovely vibe

Being an English expat, I 'm always on the lookout for good fish and chips and in the US am almost always disappointed with overcooked, soggy-battered fish. Not this time! I ordered the cod and chips here. The fish was absolutely delicious with light, crispy batter and perfectly cooked fish. Heaven! The only very mild criticism I might be able to muster is that what are called chips are actually skinny french fries. They 're good, but they are not chips in the english sense of the word.

We had a 2-hour stopover in Friday Harbour while on a whale watching tour and chose this little venue for lunch. Both me and my daughter had 2-piece cod fish and chips plus a drink. Service was fast and friendly, food real fresh and good and portions generous. There is limited seating inside and we were lucky to get a seat. There are also benches outside where many sat enjoying their food and the sunny weather.
