**Restaurant Review: Timbuktoo's - A Mixed Bag of Experiences**
Timbuktoo's, a cozy hidden gem, offers an array of seafood and other dishes that many diners rave about. While some patrons enjoy excellent food and service, others express disappointment due to long waits and service mishaps. Reports of inadequate ketchup servings, missed rice with dishes, and hair found in appetizers highlight inconsistencies. Despite this, many guests praise the atmosphere, portion sizes, and friendly staff, making it a potential must-visit for those willing to overlook occasional flaws. Overall, Timbuktoo's stands out for its ambiance and varied menu, leaving diners eager for a return visit despite service drawbacks.

We were really glad we took a detour from the main road to check out Timbuktoo's. It's surprisingly easy to miss, so be sure to slow down and look for it! We started with the amazing appetizer of the day—a Mexican street corn dip—and it was delicious. We didn't snap any photos of our food because it arrived so quickly and we were really hungry. The salmon dinner was incredible, especially with the dill sauce, which was fantastic. The sirloin dinner was a generous portion and cooked to perfection. I had the Hawaiian chicken dinner with broccoli salad, and it was outstanding. My husband ordered the Hawaiian sandwich and loved it as well.
Looks like they're closed indefinitely; this sign was on their door 11/11/23. It's a shame...eaten here twice and loved it!
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It's small and somewhat hidden, but they serve excellent fish dishes. The prices for seafood are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend the yam fries. The food was also served promptly. Overall, it’s a great discovery!
What a wonderfully cozy restaurant! My family and I stayed at Pokagon State Park to celebrate Christmas early and stopped into Timbuktoo's for a Saturday evening dinner. Our group consisted of people who only like chain restaurants (i.e. BW3's, Texas Roadhouse, Etc. , vegetarians and a picky eater. Everyone LOVED their food. It's rare that I eat somewhere with 8 people and everyone loves what they got. I'm impressed! There is truly something for everyone here! Our meals included a seared medium rare ahí tuna, cheeseburger with bacon, pasta dish, chicken with creamed spinach sauce and a grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was juicy, tender and cooked so well. For dessert we tried a peach pie, lemon pie and butterscotch. All three of the pies were also delicious. Definitely stop in if you're in this area. On top of a great meal our server was also wonderful! Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you for a great out of town experience!
The food is always delicious. The staff is friendly. The only complaint is : if you have store hours listed, on line you need to honor them. I have arrived two plus hours before closing only to get there and they closed early because they weren't busy. Or they have turned us away because they are closing early and kitchen is closed . We don't live right around the corner it's a 25 mins drive. If you're not busy , get the restaurant cleaned and ready to close read a book, but don't close early. This happened during summer lake season more than once .
