The server gives you a menu to mark your chosen dishes, which you return to them when you're ready to order. The food is decent, but I would rate it as just good—great for locals, but not worth a special trip for. That said, it still satisfies your needs. If you enjoy the spicy cucumbers from Din Tai Fung, you won't find anything similar here.
