The German restaurant received a mix of reviews from customers. While some praised the good service, friendly staff, and delicious food, others had negative experiences such as issues with availability of certain dishes and slow payment process. Many enjoyed the German beer selection and the large portions of pork knuckle. Some mentioned that the pretzels and chips were too salty, while others felt that the crackling lacked seasoning. Overall, the atmosphere was described as great for hanging out with friends, especially with promotions like 50% off bookings. The efficient service and tasty food were highlights for most customers, despite some minor complaints about pricing and seasoning. Overall, the restaurant seemed to have a lot of potential for a fun dining experience, especially for beer enthusiasts and those looking to try authentic German cuisine.

Was Chelsey Crooks at Zapfhall a mag?
Good quality, proper traditional food.
The first impression is not great I'll admit - empty for a Sunday lunch (when the Cappuccino Strip was very busy), seating is not particularly comfortable at the booths (table too high / couches too low) and food was slow to come out.
But the two young guys working there were very friendly. And then the food was actually really good and was worth it.
They ran out of the house... View all feedback.
What Fausto Anderson dislikes about Zapfhall:
A scoopon deal $120 credit for 55: We paid extra $57 for 4 of us.
The place was quite noisy, We have to shout to the waitress in order to be heard... This is not a good place to meet up with your friends, relax and make a conversation.. A loud music background made it worse. Will I come back again? Maybe not.. Honestly I prefer Brotzeit German restaurant and pay a full price than this one.
The sausages and pork bell... View all feedback.
This place had a real potential. The venue (ex Maria's on the Terrace) is set up great. You really get a beer hall vibe or as close as Fremantle could get. Unfortunately, we had a disappointing night: $75 meat tasting plate. This is grossly overpriced and essentially mostly just basic German sausages. Even the tomato relish (small as the serve was) had no taste. I'd rather eat with tomato sauce (which I did). Sauerkraut was good and the Schniztel was the only saving grace. I strongly recommend choosing something else. service was ok, but there were some faults. We booked. I received an email confirmation and everything. But, they lost out booking. They fixed it though. But, with a...read more
Second time here and still great service and food. Think it deserves much more than the 2.9. Have been to much worse restaurants that have had higher ratings e.g. Hipster joints.
Excellent service and generous food portions with a beautiful rooftop view over Freo. If you get in early enough you can even catch the sunset. Fast efficient service with the best German food I've tasted in Perth. Definately worth a try if you're looking for something authentic.

I would recommend it for a large group. but the great main courts are not cheap.
