We decided to go for the FeedMe 5 shared small dishes chiefs choice but all on the menu and a dessert each, but the same.. Great choice of drinks and also non alcoholic beer... Will definitely return sooner than later.. What really impressed us was the 3 waitresses all new the food they were presenting.. View all feedback.
What Blair Jacobi dislikes about The Raw Kitchen:
I was very impressed with all of the dishes I tried. Each one was delicious with well balanced and unique flavours, and the presentation was absolutely stunning. The standout dish for me was the gnocchi, which was perfectly cooked and coated with a light cream sauce. The corn was also spectacular, and was the first time I had ever eaten a succulent (pig face) which was surprisingly delicious! I also highly recommend... View all feedback.
First of all I want to embrace and support vegan eateries where possible as I believe Perth and Freo are crying out for more and is ready to embrace the healthier and fresher options this type of diet and menu it provides; if only there was the confidence to push more of them into the market place. As a 'reducitarian' and lactose intolerant vegan is a great option and I had heard great things so headed down the road and unfortunately was underwhelmed (by the service). We were greeted promptly at the door late in the service and without a booking which was a positive start. We then ordered drinks within 5 minutes which surprisingly took 15 minutes to arrive with the glass of white having sat on the bar for a visible and obvious 10 minutes. We then had another 20 minute wait in a quiet restaurant to eventually order. After a poor service start though we were able to order and the smaller dishes of seasoned baby potatoes and pea and mustard dip were tasty but... read more
Have traveled extensively and enjoyed excellent Vegan food in many countries around the world, but never have I experienced being so incredibly exploited for this 'privilege '. Whilst 3 out of the 4 main dishes were really tasty, the fact that you literally pay $35 for 4 mouthfuls of risotto, as an example, is simply not acceptable. there were no truffles involved) and the portions were smaller than what you would expect for a starter. This is not a Tapas bar and at over $30 per main meal, portion size is important. One of the dishes was extremely average, bordering on inedible, and no, the staff did not offer to refund this. As for the desert, almost $20 for 3 teaspoons of a 'tart ' slice, just reduced the entire experience to one of feeling utterly gouged. I could not in good conscience recommend this place as it is a complete rip-off.
It is no use in me dissing vegan food because I’m not a vegan. We went here because our daughter is. She loved the food, a six course option called ‘Feed Me’. I quite liked the starter and the desert was amazing a chocolate and orange cheescake , delicious. Everything in between was so bland I’m convinced that some salt and pepper on the table would have done the trick yet filling. But blimey it’s expensive. $140 per person for a main course of grilled cabbage and others of a similar theme. As I say, I’m sure the preparation is high class and the service was very good. And that price I quote did include two bottles of wine split between seven people. It’s just that I’ve been charged less than half that price in other restaurants in Freemantle this week with equally good service, surroundings and ingredients which would definitely cost more than cabbage.
I've just had dinner at Mother with some friends and the food (colourful plates), setting and staff were really lovely. It's a breath of fresh air and no, you won't miss the meat! A real treat, definitely.
I 'm an omnivore, my wife is a pretty thoroughgoing vegetarian, so we have to look for restaurants that cater to both our tastes. This one is a good one. Several years ago, before its name change, I thought this was a place to get an overpriced salad. No more. The chefs have managed to address any carnivore 's basic question: But will it be tasty? The answer is a resounding 'YES '! This is delicious food, wholesome (well balanced for protein and nuts) made from fine ingredients. It 's not cheap: lunch for two with 4 glasses of wine came to $145, but $83 of that was for wine: their wines are outrageously expensive, ranging from $15 through $25 a glass.
