I haven't been to Sweet Lips for yearsss and I'm glad they're still reeling out the same good ol' fish and chips ! I was never a fan of fish and chips (still aren't) until I came across Sweet Lips 6 years ago and nothing has come close ever since . fish and chips are by-section. I was told to wait for 40 minutes to get a meal, but at the end wait for 65 minutes. shop is not full of customers, many plates were left on the tables without cleaning. View all feedback.
I ordered the standard fish and chips with 2 pieces of fish. The chips were undercooked and soggy. The fish was bland and the batter tasted like it was not cooked all the way too. Also got a Greek salad which was 2 days old and tasted like it.
Decided to order some takeaway, and enjoy the sculptures by the sea while waiting for the food. Ordered the snapper with chips and tartar-sauce at the counter. Food took about 20 minutes which is what I was told it would take; plenty of time to enjoy some the sculptures nearby. The fish was excellent and came with a lemon slice; it was succulent and moist. I did ask for salt, but this addition to the chips was forgotten. Additionally, they were not crispy, but were slightly soggy and seemed slightly floury. Shame because the two slices of fish were very good.
Massive let down to say the least..... : ( All this promotion about WA fish and it's predominantly hake? We ordered our standard affair, got charged like a wounded bull. Waited for about 30/40 minutes and where not advised if any wait, however the young staff behind seemed like they were having a blast, instead of customer service or cooking?!?!?!? Food finally came out, chips droopy, no crunch and saturated with oil, fish was inedible, bland soggy batter, salad looked and tasted a week old. Lift your game, it showed so much promise yet took the **** and our money. Never again
45 minutes wait for fish and chips really dampened our desire for lunch. Would have been fine if the order taker had told us it would take that long but we only found out after checking with the counter 30 mins after placing the order. Fish wasn't bad, crisp batter and golden. Chips were not the best, perhaps taken out of the fryer too quickly due to the rush. Cajun chips were better, had some nice seasoning on them.
That is very very rubbish food, no No.1 wa, price is very high, oyster is not fresh, taste is very bad, I believe that is very bad food and service in Perth. still said No.1 wa, like joke. the food quality are very low level, any small fish chips store may be better than it. 中国的来的朋友请注意，这家店严重的质次价高。他们在曼德拉的店要比这家总店好的多，价格也便宜，味道也好的的多，fremantle的总店感觉是在骗人，Perth任何一家小店的水平都比这里好
