Bistro Papillion - Freiberg am Neckar

Good fast service, good quality of food and beverages, consistent price-performance ratio

Wow, the seemingly inconspicuous bistro really knocked me around. Sensational food on a star level. We were lucky to get a place, you should reserve definitv. Tip: ask for the day meal.

We'd had a long day cycling and we were hungry. We strolled over from our hotel near the station, had a look around the market square (Marktplatz) and Papillon seemed to have the best menu for German food. The husband had the Papillon salad, the son had the Papillon burger and I had the M.aultaschen (a regional dish, rather like big ravioli). The guys were happy with their food. The Maultaschen were perhaps a little dry. The service was very good. The staff speak English even though we're trying to practise our German. Three meals, two beers and a soft drink (Apfelschorle) came to €42.40). Marktplatz is not one of the prettier squares we saw on our trip too modern.

The food was not overwhelming, but also not bad, but the conditions were Mega nice. Therefore 5 stars for the great service. More than accommodating and beautiful.
