Seems to be going downhill quickly. This used to be one of my go to spots . Last time I was there I stood at the bar, which was empty and waited for nearly 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. Then to boot, my wings were ice cold, the burger was nearly burnt and the salad had no dressing. The staff seems more focused on texting and chatting with their friends than doing business. I visited this place forty years ago when I was a child and it brings back some incredible memories. It felt like a true hidden gem, even with its rough surroundings. It had a reputation for being a gathering spot for some rather unsavory characters from the area. I can't help but smile thinking about it, especially since my uncle and aunt were part of that scene!
The bar burger is good, choice of 4 different kind of fries or onion rings, good cole slaw pickle.
The burger was incredible, but Tim Dillon mentioned that the grill hadn’t been cleaned in 20 years.
I am very satisfied with the service and food, as well as the selection of drinks and ales available. They are also open to suggestions.

My Step father Victor Matthews sold Pat the property way back late nite burgers and the terraky steak rocks my fav place in da Port
Best bar in Freeport! Be sure to try the mussels in white sauce and check out Lisa Cruz, the sexiest bartender around. She's not only a treasure, but she also has one of the best personalities you'll ever encounter.

We had an amazing experience at The Helm! I came with my whole family, and the food exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional—truly the best we've had in a long time. I highly recommend this place!
The Helm has a lot of potential for growth, particularly with its outdoor deck. I came primarily to watch a friend's band play, and it ended up being a surprisingly unique experience. The menu offers a variety of options that could be further enhanced as the venue develops.
