Description

The Lighthouse Cafe on Brier Island offers a limited but satisfying menu for visitors, serving fresh and tasty seafood dishes. While some reviewers found the prices a bit high for the portions, others enjoyed the burgers and fries as a quick and convenient option. The service was praised for being friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was described as clean and welcoming. Overall, the restaurant seems like a good choice for a casual meal while exploring the island, with highlights including the fish tacos, fish sandwiches, and poutine.

We had made the mistake of not checking our options on Briar Island for lunch. They are the only option in town and I really had my fill of greasy food and seafood by that point. So if you are in the mood for that kind of food, it is okay, if not I suggest packing a lunch or doing takeout from Lavena's Catch Cafe on Long Island before getting on the ferry.

We had dinner here our first night and lunch on our second. Both times had great food (the breading on the fish and scallops was especially good) and also they had bins for compost and recycling which is always nice to see.

The food here is really good but the fish portions are a bit small. The burger was great. All food comes with a large quantity of fries and lovely coleslaw.

This restaurant is the only option for lunch and one of the few options for dinner. They offer a pound of fish and chips, but when inquiring about the amount of fish, the response was unhelpful. The truth is that they serve haddock bits - dry fish in small pieces - with thick, hard fries. While there is a generous portion of fries, the price is not worth it. My wife ordered the fish salad, which was the worst salad she has ever had. It consisted of mostly iceberg lettuce instead of romaine, chunks of onions, one piece of tomato, and some coleslaw. You are given a pager to retrieve your order, which is placed on an open table for you to season with salt, pepper, and ketchup. There are no covers for the salads, so bring a bag or box if you are ordering for multiple people. If we return to the area, we will bring our own food as a family could go bankrupt trying to eat here for a weekend.
