What Tiana Ochrang doesn't like about El Cacique:
Three stars because of the paella, which didn’t live up to expectations. We came to this restaurant specifically because it served paellas and the dish came out too runny and the flavors weren’t quite there. Not sure if this was a one time thing or if their paellas usually come runny but that wasn’t what we were looking for not expected. The service and setting was nice though. View all feedback.
Very kind service and waitstaff. Allowed for a very casual pace for the meal.
Aesthetically nice and appears to be a quality restaurant. But I could smell the bathroom from the dining area of the restaurant, which should have been more than enough of a reason to walk out. Against my better judgment, we sat down to eat anyway given it was getting pretty late. The food itself didn't taste off, however it did give me food poisoning for the following days. YMMV.
REVISED: 07/07/2024 On this latest occasion the C Team must have been on duty. Twenty years dining at CACIQUE and this was by far the absolutely worst dining experience. It was a special occasion and, despite having requested a specific seating location, we were placed in the back of the restaurant by the emergency exit. Our waitress was acerbic and inattentive. The busboys never cleared plates as we finished each course.The food arrived tepid and this had NEVER happened before in all the years we've been dining here. The AC was struggling and the overhead fans did little to improve the ambient temperature. To make matters worse, the Women's Restroom has 2 stalls: one was out of order and the other had a broken latch. I missed the care and attention provided by Priscilla and Kevin on our last visit!! Mr. RG, I hope you're okay and you return soon. The folks you've left in charge are ruining your lovely establishment. 06/22/2024 A Team on premises therfore we experienced a highly professional, attentive, polite staff: busboys, waiters, managers, everyone. Food is consistently top notch. The flight of Margaritas is ridiculously fabulous! 100% recommend. The LOMO SALTADO OMG! incomparable, authentic, and delicious.
Taco shells soggy when they brought to table but no one checked on us until we were both done eating to say anything. Enchiladas are small for the price. Bare minimum alcohol in margaritas.
Everything was just ok. Good spot location. The service was mediocre. The food was mediocre. Not somewhere I am thrilled to go back too.
