Fantastic food and service! The burgers were outstanding and ideal for sharing at the table. The staff was welcoming, and our orders arrived promptly, even on a Tuesday. I highly recommend this restaurant—it's budget-friendly as well! We’re definitely planning to come back. View all feedback.
What Michael Holtz dislikes about Wag's:
The food was quite good, but the service was lacking. We had to ask for water and silverware—what kind of restaurant doesn’t have silverware on the table already? To make matters worse, they reused our dirty wine glasses when refilling them. View all feedback.

A very down to earth little hole in the wall eatery and bar. Can't go wrong with Wags if you're meeting a friend or family member for a meal or just want to sit at the bar and have a good conversation.
The drinks are reasonably priced, and I only sampled two dishes. The shrimp bisque was delicious, but the sliced beef with grilled onions lacked flavor. I’ll have to come back to try their burgers next time.
The burgers and fries are pretty good, and the beer is very affordable (assuming they have your favorite). However, I would recommend avoiding the cocktails.
Went to Wags since we were visiting Fredrick. Was told they had one of the best if not best burger. Not the night we went. Wasn't bad, just lacked flavor.
**Wags: A Cozy Gem in Downtown Frederick** Nestled in downtown Frederick, Wags offers a charming atmosphere that invites patrons to kick back and enjoy good food and drinks. While the menu features standout items like juicy burgers and well-loved fries, some diners have encountered hiccups with service, including slow responses and a few lapses in manners. Despite these issues, the warm ambiance and friendly bartenders create a welcoming vibe perfect for gatherings or casual outings. With reasonably priced items and attention to comfort, Wags remains a go-to spot for those seeking a relaxed dining experience without pretension.

Wag's offers burgers that are truly outstanding—I can't exactly explain why, but they completely outshine typical fast-food options. Their menu is full of delicious choices, and you absolutely have to try the homemade chili with cheese when you stop by. It's a definite highlight!
The server was prompt and unobtrusive, refilling drinks as needed. The subs were decent, and the fries were excellent. The lighting was a bit dim for reading the menu clearly, but it created a nice atmosphere for drinks and private conversations. I would definitely visit this place again.
We were eager to visit this iconic restaurant in Frederick! The Patti Melt with fries was outstanding and certainly met our expectations. My husband chose the Double Classic, and both meals were cooked to perfection—juicy and bursting with flavor. The fries were also excellent; they were definitely worth the treat, even with the extra calories and cost compared to regular chips. The atmosphere was warm and inviting in their half-subterranean row house, and the wait staff was very attentive. Overall, the prices were quite reasonable!
Wags is a fantastic place to hang out, offering amazing service and a great atmosphere. The food is delicious, making it a highly recommended spot in downtown Frederick, MD. Additionally, there's reliable parking available on Court Street near Carroll Creek.
Wags is amazing! I had never been there before, but I decided to stop in for lunch. The dim lighting creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, which I absolutely loved. I can imagine that on busy nights, it’s a perfect place to gather with friends to watch the game or relax after a long day. For lunch, I ordered a classic cheeseburger, which I believe is the true test of a burger restaurant, and it was outstanding. It was incredibly flavorful and juicy! The fries were also fantastic. Overall, it’s a lovely place to visit. They even have happy hour specials, so if you're looking to check it out, it's definitely worth stopping by after work. You'll surely want to come back for more!

I came across the charming Chill Square in downtown Frederick while taking a stroll. While I can't speak to the food, I really appreciated the bartender and the upbeat atmosphere.
The service was a bit sluggish, and the design choices could use some improvement. The limited menu seemed overrated, yet surprisingly, the food was still excellent. The warm cellar bar has a welcoming ambiance, featuring a laid-back vibe and interesting people, which made for an enjoyable overall experience.
