Common Market - Frederick
Common Market
Description
A beloved Frederick market and café blends bright, clean spaces with an extensive selection of organic, locally sourced produce, meat and dairy, plus many gluten-free and specialty items for health-conscious shoppers. Prices are sometimes higher than small competitors but often reflect quality; several staples remain reasonably priced. Patrons praise the store’s layout and knowledgeable staff, though service can be inconsistent — with reports of rude checkout behavior and occasional overcharging. Overall it’s a dependable destination for fresh, specialty groceries and café fare, but customer service needs attention.

More expensive but very nice. Not your typical grocery store. Lots of bulk items even bulk spices. Unique finds in this store.
The restaurant offers a great variety, with friendly service and fresh food. However, some items are priced higher than what you would find at other small grocery stores.
There's a ready-made food section and a café area where you can enjoy items like Lavender Oatmilk Lattes, ginger beer, and kombucha on tap. You can bring your own bottles to fill up with kombucha, and it's the largest selection I've seen in our area! You'll also find unique craft and home goods items, including incense sticks, sage, Palo Santo, and smudging supplies, along with salt lamps and even CBD products. The jewelry selection is beautiful, and they have a great variety of essential oils and natural health remedies. I highly recommend the sandwich featuring Chipotle Vegenaise, smoky tempeh, lettuce, and tomato — it's their version of a VLT. Even if you typically don’t shop organic, natural, or plant-based, this store is a gem with plenty to love!
