I'm giving 5 Stars because I love going to Big John's Grill. I haven't been in Frazier Park for four years and only ever visit from Australia and stay on the mountain for a few months at a time when I am here. But when I'm in town, Big John's Grill is one of the places I'll eat at if I'm going out for a meal while in the area. It has quite a large variety of choices on the Breakfast Lunch menu. It's always consistent... View all feedback.
What Joanna Maximo doesn't like about Big John's Mountain Grill:
Definitely didn't feel the welcome feeling walking in. No smile, no small talk, just a plain hood morning. Food was OK. Definitely could've done without the coffee. Not good at all. View all feedback.
My chocolate and peanut butter pancakes were terrible. The skin on the pancakes was crusty and chewy and the inside mushy and flat. $14 for 2 pancakes is ridiculous. I thought the chocolate and peanut butter, especially the peanut butter were going to be real, but they were flavored chips like the ones you would put in cookies. They weren 't even melted and were not described on the menu as chocolate chips or peanut butter chips, so I thought they would have been the real deal but no. French fries were requested to be well done, but I have a feeling they were not a fresh batch cooked well done, I thing the cook just dumped the old stale fries back in the fryer and then served and I don 't think he resalted them because I couldn 't taste the salt. Server seemed to only be able to do one thing at a time. When we attempted to ask for something, just after she had left another table with their request, she didn 't even let us finish or get two words out, excuse me she cut us of and abruptly said, just a minute . in a tone of voice that suggested we were being bothersome or we were interrupting her.I will say, the inside of the diner was kinda nice. It had a little cafe/diner style bar and several tables, that, as far as I could tell, were clean. All in all, overpriced and poor quality food and service. Wouldn 't recommend getting off the freeway and traveling the 4 or 5 miles out of our way to go to this quaint, little diner. If you do decide to chance it and try this place, I wouldn 't. Unfortunately, not worth the time, or money, this establishment added to our trip. $14 for 2 pancakes? C 'mon, get a clue. Even if the pancakes were stuffed with gold,(as I explained earlier, technically they weren 't even stuffed I would not order stuffed pancakes, or any other style or flavor for that matter.Sorry, I won 't ever return nor would I suggest that anyone I know visit this place. So sorry......NOT!SUGGESTION (to the owner/manager [if there even is one] Update the menu to have more detailed and accurate descriptions of the food items and hire a server that can multitask (min. at least 2 tasks at a time with a better attitude.Good luck

But when I'm in town, Big John's Grill is one of the places I'll eat at if I'm going out for a meal while in the area. It has quite a large variety of choices on the Breakfast Lunch menu. It's always consistent in what it serves and the prices are reasonable. And I must say, it was lovely to see Zoya again. She always seems to get bad service reveiws because she doesn't seem to play the part of the welcoming waitress according to folk's expectations but I enjoy seeing her and am grateful she was there today when we popped in for brunch.
Absolutely loved it here. Next time we travel to Southern California and back we plan on stopping here.
The staff was overwhelmingly rude. The food had so much salt I could not get past the first bite. So I purchased a small side to tide me over till I got home and sent my dish back minus one bite, of course I was charged full price for all of it. I wouldn’t feed a pig the slop they serve, and their attitude seals the deal. Highly recommend avoiding.
The owner is so rude ?. We have been eating breakfast there scine 1994 will find somewhere else to eat. At Frazier Park or Pine Mountain.
