Delaney's
Description
Once a beloved local fixture, the restaurant has now closed its doors, suffering from a decline in quality and management. While the food occasionally shone, particularly the praised burgers and fried fish, inconsistent service marred the experience, with long wait times and limited menu offerings becoming commonplace. Issues extended to employee treatment, as some staff reported unpaid wages, complicating the diner’s atmosphere. Despite a loyal customer base enjoying the bar’s casual vibe and camaraderie, the overall dining experience had turned disappointing. This once-great spot leaves behind memories of its better days, now a ghost of its former self.

We stopped at this restaurant because it was conveniently located near where we were at the time. It is difficult to put into words the experience we had here. There was only one young man working, who multitasked by tending bar, taking orders, cooking the food, and processing the payments. Despite having a diverse menu, the only available option was hamburgers. After a long wait, our burgers arrived hot but the fries were cold. The cheese balls we ordered were served after we finished our meal and were waiting to pay. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience, but I understand that the young man was working alone and I do not hold him responsible for the shortcomings. It remains unclear why there was such a limited food selection available.
I would not recommend working at this restaurant as the owner has a history of not paying employees. I have personally experienced this myself. On a positive note, the regular customers are friendly and easy to work with.
Good bar food standard for the area. Decor is typical restaurant/bar decor. They have a variety of foods and everything I've had there has been good. Their fried fish seems to be a popular item. I've only been there on weekends so it has been fairly crowded (more in the summer than winter). With larger crowds comes longer wait times. A large crowd generally says something positive for the establishment though so keep that in mind! Typical drinks for a bar sodas and alcohol available. A fun touch when I've been there (weekend evenings) is that they sell Jell O shots for a dollar!
Foods good if your willing to wait a half hour for the waitress to take your order then 45 min to get your food. Lastly chase her down to pay your bill. I won't go again gave them 3 tries
