The food at this restaurant was fantastic, especially the pupusas which were delicious and truly authentic Salvadorian cuisine. They also offer a selection of classic Mexican dishes on their menu. The Salvadorian horchata is a must-try - it may be different, but it's really tasty in its own unique way. The staff are friendly and attentive. The only drawback was the wait time for the food to be served, but it was defi... View all feedback.
What elvie G doesn't like about San Salvador:
Do not, I mean Do not order the Salpicón. Meat has gone bad and the smell it throws just real bad. I understand it takes a lot of onions so it should smell but this one I ordered smells like spoiled meat. Not a great first experience View all feedback.
Food is good but they never answer their phone like never. Also their hours of operation is not accurate
Best pupusas in the area. Place is clean spacious and service is good. They have plenty of choices of pupusas and the salsa is delicious. I highly recommend the chicharrón con queso.Food: 5/5
This place has authentic Salvador food delicious popusas . But there fry Yuca was a bit dry which was disappointed.Parking: This restaurant is among other little businesses so it was hard to find plus it doesn't look like a restaurant it looks like an office..
Came in for my lunch break Took 13mins to get served The waitress were Super sassy and not in the cute way . I ordered the Plantains with beans and sourcream that was a good plate 8/10 However I also ordered a tamale and that 's where the one star comes in . The tamale wasn 't fully wrapped in a banana leave . Second only half had sauce . The chicken was dry had no flavor and they didn 't shred it it was just a lump of chicken . The Chayote was not tender and no flavor . One the other half you could smell the raw masa yes it was cooked but it smelt raw and it was thick . The location is clean and organized But I don 't recommend the food unless your having a typical plate . I also ordered a Ensalada drink . Honestly it tasted like zuko powder mix and it hardly had any fruit it 's like a juice with apple topping no mango no pineapple no nance no unique authentic flavor .And yes I 'm Salvadoran so as some home who 's gone to multiple Salvadoran restaurants in California and in Salvador I won 't suggest eating here . Save your money Also when I returned the tamale the waitress had the audacity to say Well if you don 't like just don 't order next time or I won 't remove from the bill keep in mind I only took like 2 small bites the smell of the raw masa was gross
I stopped by here many years ago and although I live out of the area I come by whenever I can. They have the best tamales. I like them with their hot sauce however when I get a few dozen to go I get both the hot and mild sauce. Great for potlucks or family gatherings. The service is amazing and everyone is extremely friendlyI highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't done so yet
