Nestled in the heart of Fountain Hills, this restaurant offers a delightful mix of authentic Mexican cuisine and a vibrant bar atmosphere. Patrons rave about the fantastic cocktails, particularly the mojitos, alongside well-prepared dishes like shrimp tacos and guacamole. The inviting patio enhances the dining experience, particularly with views of the iconic geyser. Service remains a highlight, with attentive staff ensuring a memorable visit. The staff were exceptionally helpful! I might have had a few too many margaritas the other night and ended up losing a shoe in the parking lot. I returned the next morning to find it safe and sound behind the bar, along with a note asking them to keep an eye out for Cinderella. I truly appreciated their thoughtfulness; it made me feel like royalty! View all feedback.
What Sheila B dislikes about Sofrita:
The service was slow, the menu was lacking in flavor, and the portions were on the smaller side. Overall, it wasn’t a memorable experience. There are definitely better options in the area. View all feedback.

Loved this restaurant! Started off with the tostones and the elote. I had the firehouse fish tacos and my fiance had the grilled salmon tacos. Both were amazing. I would definitely recommend this yo anyone
Stopped as the patio looked inviting. The margheritas were a little on the sweet side, but went down great and we're a good size. Spinach salad was nice and they split it into two for us which was nice. Tried the pork shoulder sofrita which wasexcellent. A very nice spot for a relaxing bite. Eddie, who was new to the restaurant, and the others, did a great job lookingafter us.
The staff at this restaurant are exceptionally helpful! I may have had one too many margaritas the other night and ended up losing a shoe in the parking lot. When I returned the next morning, I discovered it safely tucked away behind the bar with a note that said, "Keep an eye out for Cinderella." I am truly thankful for their kindness and for making me feel like royalty! Thank you!
I’m usually not a fan of fish tacos, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I liked them more than the Moroccan chicken tacos. The restaurant has a very eclectic atmosphere, but I felt they should offer chips and salsa free of charge; at $5, they were just mediocre and not worth the price. If I go back, I would definitely skip those. We visited for Sunday brunch, and it wasn’t too crowded. The fish tacos made with salmon and topped with guacamole were delicious, but I chose the Moroccan chicken, which I regretted. I wish I had gone for the beef instead, as the chicken was underwhelming—lacking Moroccan spices, flavor, and it was quite tough. The bathroom was dimly lit yet had a unique charm. Overall, I think what you’re really paying for is the experience of dining outdoors with a view of the Fountain Hills geyser if you time your visit right.
I've been to this restaurant multiple times and have consistently had a great experience. The cocktails, especially the Mojitos, are amazing. The menu features authentic Mexican cuisine that caters to a diverse crowd. The guacamole is particularly tasty. It's the perfect place for mid-afternoon drinks and snacks, conveniently situated on Main Street in Fountain Hills. Plus, the bathroom has a unique atmosphere that puts me in mind of a Supernatural set.

Always amazing! Great service, incredible food and the BEST sangria and guacamole in AZ! Our absolute favorite place. Worth a trip to Fountain Hills to check it out!

One downside to this restaurant is that they don't provide complimentary chips and salsa; there's a charge for them. Considering that the food is already on the expensive side, this was a bit disappointing, particularly since prices are generally higher in Fountain Hills. Overall, I would return to try the salmon tacos. For those looking for vegetarian options, there was a vegan dish available—tacos made with portobello mushrooms, squash, and peppers, served with hummus and black beans. These were quite enjoyable. For my lunch, I dined in and spent around $10 to $20. I would rate the food a strong 5, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 5. While I somewhat recommend it to vegetarians, I would definitely suggest trying the tortilla soup.
The food is absolutely delicious! I had lunch there, and the cost per person was approximately $20–30. Both the food and the service were outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5. The atmosphere was fantastic too, also receiving a 5. I definitely recommend trying the shrimp tacos!

If you're looking for appetizers and a casual bar atmosphere, this place is decent. However, the prices are on par with a five-star restaurant, but the food quality feels more like a two-star experience.
Absolutely amazing! The food arrived hot and flavorful, and the ambiance was really pleasant. I'm obsessed with the tortilla soup, and the chips are truly exceptional. I only wish they were open on Mondays and Tuesdays, especially Tuesdays. Although a bit pricey, the incredible flavors make it totally worth it!
I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were fantastic! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals as well. The street corn was also amazing. The service was excellent. Don't be deterred by the outer decor; this place is a hidden gem with delicious food at reasonable prices.
Just what I needed! I was looking for a quick meal, and this place was perfect. The chicken and fish tacos were fantastic, and the house margarita was the cherry on top!

Great food and service! We had our dogs in the terrace and they were very dog friendly. Yummy Coconut Mojitos!
Delicious! I had the flavorful shrimp tacos, the hot sauce was fabulous and the best lemonade I ever had!! The staff were friendly! A must eatery!
While strolling through the area, we discovered this restaurant and were delighted by the incredible quality of the food. We only sampled a few appetizers, but they were remarkable—particularly the guacamole and chips and the mini-tacos, which had a distinctive flavor that really made them stand out from typical offerings. The coconut mojito is a must-try; it’s simply amazing! Don’t miss the chance to experience this; you might never encounter anything quite like it again, even if you live to be 100!
I had a wonderful Birthday celebration at Sofritas yesterday. The paella was fabulous and the chocolate cake was the best I've ever eaten!

We enjoyed our first experience in Sofrita's. We sat on the terrace, which is pup friendly. Beautiful view for people looking. Bathroom is a stable inside...
The service was terrible and the food was worse. I have no idea how this place got so good reviews. The server had no personality and made me like...
Enjoyed a wonderful early lunch on a Sunday morning. The inside of the restaurant is smaller then anticipated but it was clean and nice. The food was delicious and well presented.
Right in downtown Fountain Hills this wonderful little restaurant is not disappointed! We stayed on the street just after the weekly market...
Wow! What an experience! Great atmosphere and AMAZING staff! Our first time here and couldn't have been more impressed! We were treated like royalty by our hostess Jen. The food was phenomenal and loved the entire experience. 10 out of 5 stars!
