What User doesn't like about Takaoka Of Japan:
Been coming here for years. Most times have been a five star. Last Thursday was the worst. We were there to celebrate anniversary and birthday. There was five if us. One empty chair and a couple that was allergic to shrimp, chicken and one was allergic to mushrooms. First of all why come there. The woman was a diva for sure. Michelle l was absolutely amazing. she was so patient and friendly with my little child who had a hard time. the cook was also friendly and the food was delicious. nothing but a positive experience.
An amazing place; it was my first time there. First time eating Japanese food and using chopsticks. I didnt pay anything this time; my boss paid for ours-there were 10 of us. I had the Chicken Hibachi.The chicken was seasoned amazingly. They also included: Japanese soup, Japanese salad, and ended with a cup of Japanese hot tea. I had very good service, they are really friendly there; they love talking. Very clean place too. Had a great time. Want to go again...
Fun. We had a blast at the table watching our chef cook our food and also play with it. Lol I did a blueberry lemon drop. It was the best. I would definitely go again. You will love it. Call for reservations.
Everything was great, the food the service etc. the only issue was there was so much smoke it made me start coughing. I know I’m more sensitive since I’m asthmatic but I think they need a better ventilation system. You could see the smoke in the air when we were in the waiting area and throughout our meal. It can’t be healthy to be breathing that in all day for their staff and it made me uncomfortable.
Experience didn't start off well with rude hostess. Had reservations prior to arriving and they wouldn't seat us until our entire party arrived which they didn't tell us (until I overheard the hostess talking to our 13 year old daughter about our table instead of to the adults). I was then told they could only hold our spot for a limited time and they would have to skip us. I asked if our table was ready and they said they didn't have a spot for us yet. So how could we be the ones holding things up then? Finally seated and I sat in a soaking wet seat. Waitress (Kathleen) likely noticed my frustration (ok, maybe anger at this point) and did a very good job diffusing the situation. Food was very good (especially the steak and the scallops) other than the lobster tail (so save your money and skip the lobster). Service was rushed. Also very limited wine list.
