Description

Nestled in a charming, bustling corner of Fort Wayne, Laredo Restaurant Grocery stands out as a beloved hidden gem for those craving authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. While some dishes may not deliver the expected flavor—particularly salads and tacos—many patrons rave about the exceptional enchiladas, homemade salsa, and unbeatable chips. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, if slightly rustic, with a hint of character that adds to its appeal. Although service can be leisurely and occasionally quirky, the inviting ambiance and tantalizing flavors ensure a worthwhile dining experience that encourages repeated visits. Don't miss out on their infamous tamales and guacamole!.

This restaurant is a good place to visit, but some of the dishes lacked flavor. The tacos were soggy and had an odd taste. I did enjoy the other dishes I tried, although the lettuce was also a bit wet. Stick to cheese and meat dishes for a better experience. Anything with lettuce or tomato was too wet and had a strange taste. They have a nice store in the back where they take their time preparing carry out orders. The staff gave me some strange looks, but to be honest, they seemed a bit odd to me too.

Laredo Restaurant Grocery is an authentic gem. I'm starting with that statement because it truly captures the essence of this charming hidden spot! It's one of the best places I've ever had guacamole, and definitely one of the top spots for enjoying real, authentic Mexican cuisine. The food was outstanding, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was just right - not too crowded, just perfect. If you get the chance to visit Laredo Restaurant Grocery, don't miss out! (Pictured: chicken enchiladas, salsa, a beef taco, chimichanga, chips, and the most amazing flan)

Pure Heaven. I'm a musician and years ago I I toured the United States. A good friend of mine introduced me to Laredos and I quickly fell in love with the food. I'll be returning to the States next year and a trip (or two...or three) is definately on the agenda. I was just telling a friend of mine about my fond memories of Benito and his FABULOUS food (I always get the enchiladas) and wondered (hoped) they were still in business.. the place smelled sooooo GOOOD...there was Freddie Fender playing on the juke box and fresh tortilla chips and salsa delivered to our table....and mexican pepsi. I WILL without a doubt be back as soon as I'm in the States!

My wife and I have talked about going there for a long time. We went for lunch a couple days ago and let me tell you, Awsome Food! This iS not the place to go on a nice date, it is a little rough inside, but get over it. It is all about the food. The owner has been in the same spot for 40 years making great food. We both had the same lunch special. Beef burrito with beans and rice. The best beams and rice o have had in FW. Salsa was also very good. Very authentic and cheap.
