We ordered two meals for our families, but unfortunately, the portion sizes did not seem to match the price. Everything had quite a strong kick; it was definitely flavorful, though it might not be to everyone’s taste. I wish there had been more detailed descriptions on the menu, especially since I have young children. If I hadn’t tried the beans, I would have missed out on how spicy they were, especially when paired with the coleslaw. The ribs were decent, but I feel that the overall ordering experience could be improved by offering a full plate instead.

From the moment we walked in, Greg greeted us with a big smile and went through the menu for us and helped seat our big group. Before we even ordered, he brought us a sample of the warm German potato salad that was his mother 's recipe and also let us sample the coleslaw with the grilled shrimp. We ordered the family pack of brisket and pork and got the potato salad, coleslaw, and the brussels sprout hash for our sides. The buns for the bbq was grilled and warm to make sandwiches. The side dishes are what really makes Roadside Que stand out.

We confirmed it, and he provided us with a detailed explanation of their menu offerings and their philosophy on using locally sourced ingredients. My fiancé ordered ribs, while I opted for a pulled pork sandwich with macaroni and cheese. My fiancé's sister went for the mac and cheese meal topped with pulled pork, and her husband also ordered a pulled pork sandwich, if I remember correctly. We also shared a side of green chili because none of us had tried it before. Overall, the BBQ was good. My dining companions enjoyed it more than I did, but I'm a bit pickier when it comes to BBQ. I found the pulled pork to be more like chunky pork, which isn’t my personal preference. The pieces were large and neatly stacked on the sandwich. The meat itself was tender and flavorful, but the bun didn’t hold up well, and the sauce was excellent, so I ended up eating it with a fork. My fiancé and his family were very happy with their meals. I tried a bite of his ribs and found them tasty, with a bit of a chewiness. The sweet and tangy BBQ sauce had a nice flavor, but I thought it could have been a bit thicker. Neither of us were particularly thrilled with the green chili; it wasn’t that it was bad, but I suppose it just wasn’t to our liking. It certainly was unique, packed with meat and vegetables, very thick with a friendly kick. I’d be curious to hear from someone more familiar with green chili about this version. The standout dish for me was definitely the macaroni and cheese. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the cheese sauce was creamy and complex, and the topping of grated cheese added just the right amount of texture. If I visit again, I would definitely reorder that!
