We was on a day trip from Edinburgh to Loch ness and back through the cainggorns national park, we stop in the village we decided not to go a cruise on the Loch as wanted to look around and stopped at the fish and chip shop. Also we went down to the point to see the Loch and took some photos . View all feedback.
What stephen m doesn't like about Canalside Fish Chip Shop:
Visited last week. Thought as it was a Fish n Chip shop they wouldn't be serving Frozen Chips, totally not what you'd expect to get from a traditional Scottish Chip Shop. You're giving good auld Scottish chips a very bad name. Owner, stop being lazy and start using fresh potatoes. View all feedback.

I was a little hesitant to go here given the reviews but I'm glad we did! This was the best fish and chips we had during our entire stay in Scotland! Everything was made fresh and to order, the gentleman serving us was friendly (and even apologetic about how long it took since we were behind a big family order). We enjoyed a table canal side which made for a fantastic evening as the sun set.
Stopped here before Loch Ness Cruise. Best fish chips I’ve had. He cooks on the spot so it’s super fresh. Would love to return in the future.

Felt rather scammed as there’s a big sign outside saying “Traditional Fish and Chips” but it was factory-made fish and chips cooked from frozen. Not traditional to my understanding. If you’re a tourist reading this, try to find a proper chippy to taste the real thing.
