Really friendly family owed restaurant. We just stopped in for a quick bit to hold us over to dinner. I had the apple pie and my husband had a slice of some type of lemon pie/cake. What TheBagCarrier doesn't like about The Thistle Stop:
From the moment we entered we wished we hadn't. Everything seemed an effort for the couple that were running it (and who clearly wished they weren't). The hot drinks were expensive, we ordered sandwiches to take away and were looked at as if we had requested something so unusual they'd never been asked before (a tuna mayo and a cheese sandwich). This is such a lovely wee restaurant . Lots of lovely gifts to buy as well. Very clean and tidy. Plenty to choose from on menu, something for everyone’s tastes. We had the days special steak baguette , salad and fries , it was delicious. Latte coffee was lovely too. Very reasonably priced. Definetly return.

Just stopped in on the way past for lunch. The food was really well presented and extremely tasty! The coffee was hot and strong too. Excellent!!
Stayed here overnight in our motorhome as Jaggy Thistle is part of BritStops. Keith was very friendly and helpful. Shop has a fantastic selection of lovely gifts and wonderfully scented lotions and potions. Very reasonably priced menu. We arrived at the wrong time of day for a meal but had some lovely toasties, chips and cakes. Would definitely visit here again if we are on the A82 in the future. Someone was booking for a Sunday lunch and it sounded good so we might just have to plan a weekend road trip !
Great breakfast lovely relaxed atmosphere visited for various stops through our 5week holiday and great every time.
