My husband were impressed with Lisa and Damian when they came to our rescue on a cold wet winters day. The decor was rustic and warm. The clean interior with its wood fire enticed us to relax whilst drinking and eating good quality food.We shall return to this lovely pub again soon. Wishing you luck with the Soup fest this weekend. What Zobb0476 doesn't like about The Wonky Donkey at Forrest:
3 Jan and I hope that was the worst meal I will have in 2017. I can accept poor service but the pizza was inedible. Ham on the Hawaiian was disgusting and the vege pizza was overloaded with slimy eggplant. We were charged 12inch pizza price for the 9inch. Pizza bases were generic frozen things. Please fix the door that slams every time. And smokers next to the kids play area!! We had a Hawaiian pizza there in late Nov 16 and it was really nice. We'll wait until it changes ownership again. Shouldn't be long.
I had a pleasant and budget-friendly stay at a well-located property. I needed a place to stay last minute, and was relieved when they answered the phone at 7:30pm and informed me that I could retrieve my key from a lockbox at the reception shed. The property is situated across from a charming pub, with a general store and brewery located around 500m away for convenience. My stay could have been enhanced with a few improvements, such as having a dryer in the laundry room, a proper knife for cooking in the kitchenette of my studio, and clearer instructions for parking and accessible paths. It was unclear where I should park to access my studio, and the most direct path appeared to lead through the front yard of a neighboring studio.
This camping site is a great place to relax and unwind. The peaceful surroundings make it a perfect spot to escape from the hustle and bustle. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the facilities, as some of the toilets were closed and guests had to walk further to find alternative ones.

We have dined at the Wonky Donkey frequently and I was ready to order the calamari and my husband swears that the steak is one of the best he has eaten. Monday night we, party of four, arrived without a booking to be told the cook has a night off. No other eating place in Forrest was open so it looked like dim sims from our freezer. As it was our anniversary the publican must have seen the disappointed look on our faces He offered to cook flathead tails, chips and salad for the 4 of us. They were cooked beautifully and he went over and above to satisfy us. Much appreciated.
Travelled to the Wonky Donkey on Easter Sunday for lunch with my family. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we entered. The food was great too, with good sized portions and great value for money! The menu had a good variety including fish, steak, the classic chicken parma, pizzas, the 'Wonky Burger' and more. It was a great experience and we will definitely be making the trip back! :-)
