Was lakegirl48 at Il Pinus a mag?
We were taken to this restaurant, with ample parking, by our local friends. What a lovely lunchtime experience. We shared our starters and mains which were all variations of grilled fish, giant prawns, fritto misto etc. Every bite was tasty, the service was relaxed as we had requested (we had a lot of catching up to to do and were left in peace to do so), the local wine was delicious and the bill was correct, What mo... We would happily return if we were in the area again.

It is a restaurant that could use an internal renovation, it is located in an exceptional spot between Formia and Minturno, a very short distance from the sea, a very large parking lot, plenty of outdoor space with tables and a beautiful spacious indoor room, excellent for ceremonies, events and parties in general, the owner Raffaele is a very kind and very helpful person always ready to satisfy every customer's need, a true gentleman and host supported by his children for years with great satisfaction he manages to manage a simple and authentic catering, (albeit in an old-fashioned restaurant style) to delight with the freshness of the products and the good preparation of his cuisine, the specialty of the house first and foremost is the freshness of the fish, all strictly freshly caught of the day, in fact you will never find the same things and above all each product in its season. Excellent seafood appetizers rich in everything and seasoned with a delicious oil produced locally from Itrane olives, two excellent first courses: linguine with lobster and Formiana-style, an excellent grilled fish always enriched with a drizzle of oil, simple and tasty. The freshness of the fish, the grilled flavor, and the aroma of the excellent local extra virgin olive oil explode in your mouth. The side dishes are a bit limited and could use some elaboration. The wine selection is limited and, in my opinion, could be slightly expanded and selected. The fresh seasonal fruit is also present. The dessert selection is a bit disappointing and could be improved with a few more high-quality pastries, offering a more selective and delicious selection. The classic gelato confionati are excellent, but I recommend the white truffle gelato dipped in hot bitter coffee—a splendid and delicious combination that will surely delight you. The coffee is good, and the excellent Amaro Abruzzese liqueur, served nicely chilled, enhances its flavor. Congratulations to Raffaele, who has carried on this business with dedication and tenacity for many years, always with the same spirit and love for cooking and delighting his customers.

On the trek between Naples and Gaeta, our family enjoys the refreshing break at this simple restaurant. It was here that my husband first realized his true love for artichokes in pizza and my children always enjoyed the fresh menu items and thus slowly edged away from being picky eaters. Expansing our palate was another great side effect of our frequent stops at Il Pinus.
