Excellent Chinese food for either dine in or take away. Been going here for years. Many people in the Forestville area have been.We used to call it "Arthur's" but Arthur has retired now But pleased to say it's still kept up top quality food with great flavours and generous portions. We particularly recommend The Duck and Satay Chicken.Probably the best and most consistent Chinese restaurants we've ever been to. Excel... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Forestville Chinese Restaurant:
This is the type of Chinese place we all went to 25 years ago. The stuff of Spring Rolls, Chicken & Sweet Corn Soup and Sweet & Sour Pork. There is nothing at all fancy about this place but it serves cheap, tasty Cantonese with good sized serves and always get a welcome from the lady there. View all feedback.
Don't worry about the atmosphere or service - if you're looking for authentic, tasty Chinese food at affordable prices, this is the place to go. There aren't many traditional Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurants left in the suburbs these days; everyone seems to be more interested in Thai or fusion cuisine. The food here is delicious and offers great value for money.
Ok for your local Chinese restaurant, and if you're stuck on a Friday night but probably wouldn't return any time soon. Food was sadly very bland!
Food is your good old fashion Chinese. Service very average. Not up to speed with people with certain food allergies.
On entry the man behind the counter stood up but continued doing what he was doing for a good 1 2 minutes then just said yes, asked for a table for two was sat at an unmade table for 4 even though there were plenty of set tables for two, on ordering we ordered deep fried ice cream the reason the kid wanted Chinese) and were informed) we are running low?? The food we ordered was very average with the squid being so oily that we used out serviettes to get some oil off, the windows had hand prints/ marks all over the inside and the glasses were not well clean but the restaurant in general was the staff in general were blunt and not particularly welcoming unfortunately would not go back or order from again
The Mixed Entree is a must as is the San Chow Bow. The Sweet and Sour Pork is a classic and dont forget the Beef and Black Bean Sauce. Inexpensive, good, honest Chinese cuisine. Enjoy! Say a big hello to Arthur. He's a classic!
