The Shak - Forest City

Amazing food and atmosphere. This is the best example of Southern style BBQ in this area! The fried green tomatoes and onion rings are scattered by hand. The brisket was full of taste and cooked for perfection.

This place is great. We came to 9 on Saturday night and there was a $5 cover because they have live music. We wanted to go because we weren't there for the music, but the manager let us in without the cover fee, because we just wanted to eat. So we did what we asked. We ate and went. I would recommend this place because the food was GREAT, and the hospitality was AWESOME. We had the Sirloin tips and wings, and you can't find a better wing in the district I know.

You live music for great night. The Mara Jennings and the One Shot band were great.

Wow, I didn't expect much of this place, but I was wrong! There were 9 of us on Wednesday evening food service was excellent. Our foods ranged from smoked brisket, fried fish to the Cobb salad with smoked chicken. The only slight difference was used on the dough on the fish, but that was of only 1 person of 3 who ordered it. They serve beer, wine drinks. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice. You have seen several dining rooms with table chairs....ke stands. I wish they had round tables for larger groups. We find that style of the table makes it easier to turn around with everyone. We will definitely come back.

It was my first time at the Shak. The food was great, the servers were Terrific. The band was Amazing! And the company all around were strangers at first but was Awesome at the end. My sister and her man had been many times. And they bragged about it. So we finally came and had a lot of fun. We will be back.
