Perfect. The dishes are excellent, the kidneys were perfectly cooked, just rosé as needed. Beautiful collection of excellent quality wines. The small pocket to hold the tipet half full while leaving is a delicate attention. Service impeccable and pleasant. To recommend warmly! View all feedback.

What Richard P dislikes about Vertigo:
this was the first time in Foix for a few years, we always eat at a restaurant gaia which was great. we were advised to go to le vertigo. worst mistake, the food was poor expensive and awful service when we complained now one seemed interested. l shall not mention the food because its not worth the effort View all feedback.

The waiter was outstanding. The restaurant was full and he was alone. Still we had no complaints about the service or the food. Good kitchen. The locals eat here.

Great food, very French, lovely service and good selection of wines. Will have to come back next time we’re visiting Foix.

Very pleasant helpful staff but the food varied from very good to awful! We went twice obviously the first experience was so good but on the second visit my husband’s entree dish was a disaster! Virtually inedible. It was obviously something the chef was experimenting with. It sounded OK cauliflower with mascarpone and crevettes but the actual dish was anything but OK. Such a pity because up until then our opinion of this restaurant was very positive! Most of the dishes being served to adjoining tables on both visits looked wonderful. Overall our opinion would be to say that this place is well worth a visit. It just proves that a review is dependent on what you experience on one visit!

On the outside the restaurant presents itself as a Cave á Vins and the walls are lined with wine bottles. So it was surprising for us to find out that there was only one red wine that we could get by the glass. Anyhow we decided to try the one available wine with a three course menu, and it was a rather good wine. Local French wine which inself was a little confusing since the interior, and the music, made us believe we had entered a Spanish restaurant. Two excellent entrées assured us we were on the right track: an Aumônière de filets de rouget sur lit de poireaux à la crème and a Brioche bouchon tiède crème de champignon. Both of them arranged rather playfully on the dish, but the taste and flavour assured us that it wasn't just silly food sculpturing but genuine good cooking. Our main courses, skewered beef and porc confit, were more mainstream in appearance but very savoury as well. Along with a delicious Baba Rhum and ice cream for dessert we found out that there was one dessert wine available by the glass as well. And luckily enough it was a good one, matching the desserts very well. We had hoped for a wine experience when we entered but got a food experience instead. When the two can be combined, this could be a very good restaurant.
