Yupdduk in New York offers a diverse selection of tteokbokki dishes, with the standout being the classic version. The food is flavorful, with options ranging from mild to spicy, and the pork Katsu helps balance out the heat. The restaurant provides excellent customer service, quick service, and reasonable pricing. While the food quality may not be the absolute best in the area and the bathroom smell was bothersome, the overall experience is great for groups. The cozy atmosphere, fast service, and delicious dishes make Yupdduk a top spot for tteokbokki enthusiasts, offering unique rosé tteokbokki and flavorful toppings.

What Gigi Du dislikes about Yupdduk:
We ordered Curry Udon with fried shrimps. The shrimps (tempura) were soggy. Curry didn't taste too good and portion is generous. We also ordered Yupgi Katsu Set lunch. The pork cutlet is over cooked so it's not tender and the skin are hard, even a bit burned. View all feedback.

This restaurant is a bit expensive. The karaage comes in a set of 5 pieces, with 2 being half sized. On Uber Eats, it costs $7. The potato croquettes are $4 for a set of 2 on Uber Eats. You can customize and add toppings to the tteokbokki, which is often cooked too soft and can split. However, you cannot add extra meat to the curry, even if you're willing to pay more.
The food at this restaurant was quite delicious! I would suggest ordering the mild option if you do not like spicy food. My friends and I particularly enjoyed the pork Katsu, as it helped balance out the spiciness of the rice cakes and kimchi fried rice. Overall, I had a great dining experience and the customer service was excellent. Additionally, the prices were very reasonable, especially with the combo sets available. I would definitely recommend this place.
I absolutely love this place! I've been eating here for nearly a year and a half, and the tteokbokki is fantastic—definitely the best rice cakes I've had anywhere.
The food tastes good, but it used to be better. Over time, it has become increasingly watery and bland.
