Description

Sodam, a delightful family-style Korean restaurant, has garnered praise for its diverse menu, featuring kimchi fried rice, delectable ribs, and flavorful bowls. Diners appreciate the attentive service and reasonable prices, often leaving with satisfying leftovers. Highlights include the spicy braised short ribs and signature dishes like the secret skillet and kimchi pasta, though some spicy offerings may disappoint heat seekers. While the atmosphere is unremarkable and wait times can be lengthy, the expertly crafted flavors and generous portions make Sodam a worthy destination for both casual meals and special gatherings.

Sodam is a Korean restaurant that serves delicious bowls definitely worth trying. Our group of five ordered three bowls along with some side dishes. Although the rice bowls aren’t as large as they appear on the menu, they offer a satisfying portion without being too heavy on carbs. The secret skillet is a must-try and their signature dish—the cheesy eggs surrounding the rice blend perfectly for a fantastic flavor. I also recommend the beef bowl, which features Korean-style stewed short ribs. The beef is tender with a pleasant sweetness that enhances the dish. However, if you’re seeking spicy options, the choices are limited— even those marked with three chili peppers didn’t deliver much heat. It seems this is intentional to let the flavors shine through. Service was excellent, though the wait for our food was a bit long, especially as we were quite hungry. Overall, I’d give Sodam a 4 out of 5.

The menu at Sodam offers delicious dishes, and we especially loved the spicy braised short ribs. The prices are reasonable—three of us dined for under $100 and still had plenty of leftovers.

Situated on Northern Boulevard at 156th St, Sodam is a fantastic family-style Korean restaurant offering pasta, rice dishes, and fried chicken. We tried the kimchi pasta, a half-and-half order of soy garlic and spicy soy garlic fried chicken, the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, along with the complimentary banchan appetizers. Everything was delicious and expertly prepared. The service was prompt and efficient. I would definitely return here again.

Sodam is my favorite restaurant. I'm a big fan of their galbi-jjim!

As a public school teacher in Brooklyn, I recently took 30 of my students on a field trip to Koreatown in Queens, where they study the Korean language and culture as part of our foreign language curriculum. We had lunch at Sodam, and I must say, both the food and service were exceptional! We truly appreciate your support for our school and community. We can’t wait to return! Thank you so much! Best regards, Vista
